Sealing principle: The packing of graphite packing is an elastic-plastic body. When subjected to axial compression, frictional force is generated, causing the compression force to gradually decrease along the axial direction. At the same time, the radial compression force generated makes the packing tightly adhere to the shaft surface and prevent medium leakage. The distribution of radial compression force decreases sharply from the outer end (cover) to the inner end, and then becomes gentle. The distribution of medium pressure gradually decreases from the inner end to the outer end. When the medium pressure at the outer end is zero, there is little leakage, and when it is greater than zero, there is leakage.
Sealing characteristics of graphite packing
Good high temperature resistance: can be used in the temperature range of -200 ℃ to+455 ℃, and can still maintain its original performance at high temperatures.
Good thermal conductivity: With excellent thermal conductivity, it can quickly dissipate heat at high temperatures and prevent sealing materials from overheating.
Good pressure resistance performance: can withstand high pressure. Technical parameters show that it can withstand 200bar pressure in rotary pumps, 100bar pressure in reciprocating pumps, and 400bar pressure in valves. The temperature range is -100-800 ℃, pH value is between 2-12, and linear speed is 0-15 meters/second.
Strong universality, good flexibility, and high strength: woven with pure expanded graphite wire reinforced with materials such as glass fiber, copper wire, stainless steel wire, nickel wire, and nickel alloy wire, combined with general woven packing, it is an effective sealing element to solve high-temperature and high-pressure sealing problems.
